CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS 2007

 
 
 
One of the greatest outreaches we have at the local orphanages is our annual "Christmas for Kids" program.  This program was started in 1999 and has been something which the orphanage staff have always appreciated.  Churches across the US pack ziploc bags with toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, T-shirt, crayons, calculator and Life Saver candy, which is given to each child.  This year, we were blessed to have a team from Prestoncrest Church of Christ in Dallas, TX come and deliver the gifts to children at Solnichne Toddler Orphanage, Mariupol Orphanage #1 and Amvrosievka Orphanage (close to the Russian border). 
 
This Christmas, almost 700 children received gift bags and heard the story of the birth of Jesus.  The team even used candy canes and the story of the candy cane maker to share the message of God's love for the children.  We would like to thank the following groups for their generosity and gifts: Church of Christ (Madison, WI),
Cullins - Lake Pointe Elementary School (Rockwall, TX), Eastridge Church of Christ (Rockwall, TX), Footville Church of Christ (Footville, WI), Hillcrest Church of Christ (Abilene, TX), Kingwood Church of Christ (Kingwood, TX), Prestoncrest Church of Christ (Dallas, TX) and Cheryl Prude who coordinated a collection at her school and church in California. 
 
Due to your generosity this year, we collected close to 1,300 gift bags which we were able to share with three other ministries in Ukraine to give to orphans with whom they work.  THANK YOU!!!
