FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT: JEREMIAH'S HOPE AND SAFE HAVEN INTERNATIONAL
TO MERGE MINISTRIES...

July 2, 2007

Dear Friends of Jeremiah’s Hope,

For the past four years, God has blessed and added many friends to our partnership, as we have prayed and dreamed together about what God can do among the orphans of Ukraine.  For Andrew Kelly, our Executive Director, the dream of opening a home for children transitioning from the orphanage to trade school begun six years ago when he and a co-worker met with Jenny O’Leary, a missionary, running a similar ministry in Kiev called Safe Haven International.  Safe Haven and its staff had already opened a home for teenagers leaving the orphanage and were successfully ministering to other orphans in the capital city of the country.

That visit with the mission team at Safe Haven International in early January of 2001, led to Andrew’s eventual move to Ukraine and the opening of the Transitional Living Center (TLC), in Mariupol during the fall of 2004.  Since the opening of the TLC, Jeremiah’s Hope has been blessed to open an apartment for young adult orphans and recently, to develop a home in partnership with the local Department of Social Services in the city of Mariupol.

This past fall Andrew and Jenny started dating, are now engaged and will be married in September.  With their forthcoming marriage, Andrew and Jenny have requested a merger of the two organizations into one stronger ministry with greater strengths and resources to further the purpose of Christ among the children of Ukraine.  We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors of both organizations have unanimously voted to approve the merger of these two ministries.

We wanted you, our partners in ministry, to be the first to know of this decision.  We believe that together, the two ministries have much greater talents.  The staffs of both ministries are close friends and look forward to working side by side.

With the merger of the two ministries, it was decided that Jeremiah’s Hope will retain its name and that the board of Jeremiah’s Hope would assume responsibility for the ministry and house in Kiev, which was operated by Safe Haven International.  We believe God has blessed us with a great opportunity to minister together.

We hope that you will continue to partner with us, as together we seek to meet the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of the orphans of Ukraine by investing in long term relationships which, we pray, will lead them to become productive, Christian citizens in their home country. If you have any questions in regards to the merging of these ministries, please feel free to contact us at info@jeremiahshope.org

Sincerely,

The Board of Directors
Jeremiah's Hope, Inc.
